Tap.Giving by the Numbers
Our own business data, not a projection or a round estimate. Every figure below is re-derived from our order and payment records as of the date shown, and we say exactly where it comes from. No unsourced superlatives.
accounting/orders/_manifest.json, distinct customers.Where these numbers come from
We are a small, real business, not a platform with a public dashboard, so we are showing our work instead of asking for trust. The four figures above are re-derived — not hand-typed — every time this page is refreshed: they come from our internal order manifest, which is reconciled against our live Stripe account before each number is written anywhere. "Paying churches" counts distinct customers, not orders, because one church has placed a second order. "Lifetime revenue" is net of the one refund we have ever issued, not the gross amount billed.
We are not a payment processor and do not see a church's donors or donation totals — these numbers describe our own plate sales, nothing about any customer's giving.
Order-to-delivery timing: what we promise vs. what we measure
We tell churches to expect 2–3 weeks from artwork approval to delivery, and we say so as an estimate everywhere we quote it, including on this page. Our manufacturing partner states 5–6 days production plus 5–7 days shipping as their own target, and confirmed directly that 3–5 weeks is a realistic outside case.
Measured against real orders: a 150-plate order took 11 days from payment to a tracking number; a 300-plate order with elastic bands took 15 days to dispatch, then additional freight-forwarding time with one delivery exception that needed an address correction. A separate shipment was held a day for an incorrect postal code, caught and fixed the same day.
Our honest read: 2–3 weeks is the optimistic case. The two most common causes of slippage are hardware options (like elastic bands) going out of stock and shipping-address errors, both of which are on the customer-data side, not manufacturing. We ask every customer to double-check their shipping address and postal code at order time because it has already cost real delay twice.
Year-one cost of 100 custom tap-to-give units, by vendor
Tap.Giving's own price below is current policy, re-derived from our live pricing configuration. Competitor figures were verified against each vendor's own published pricing on 2026-07-12 (ChurchTap's figures were re-checked live on 2026-09-20 and were unchanged); treat them as dated, not live, and verify directly with each vendor before relying on them for a purchasing decision — full sourcing in documentation/competitor-tap-pricing-2026-07.md.
| Vendor | Year one | Every year after |
|---|---|---|
| Tap.Giving | $500 one time ($450 during the 7-day first-order discount) | $0 (Smart Redirect Dashboard included free, permanently, at any quantity) |
| Clearstream (tags, not plates) | ~$440 | $240 (plan required) |
| Overflow Tap | ~$1,023 (annual contract) | ~$588 (plan required) |
| Tithely Tap (custom, 250 min.) | $1,000+ plus shipping | Required platform fees on every gift, forever |
| ChurchTap TapDot | ~$434 (with design service) | $240/yr if using their full link-management plan |
We complement these vendors' platforms rather than compete with them — this table compares tap hardware to tap hardware, not full giving platforms to our plates.
This page is refreshed quarterly
The order counts, revenue, and plate totals above are re-derived from live records, not retyped, every time this page is refreshed — at minimum once a quarter, and sooner if a number here would mislead someone asking a current question. The "updated" stamp at the top of the page reflects the last refresh.
