Terms of Service

Agreement to Terms
By using Tap.Giving services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations.
Service Description
Tap.Giving provides NFC (Near Field Communication) tap-to-give solutions for churches and religious organizations, including:
- NFC-enabled giving plates
- Setup and configuration services
- Technical support
- Integration with existing giving platforms
- The optional Smart Redirect Dashboard, described below
Pricing and Payment
Pricing is transparently displayed and subject to volume discounts. Payment is due upon receipt of invoice. All prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details, and we hold no authority to charge you again without you entering them. Recurring charges do not exist on your account: the only annual item we offer is the Smart Redirect Dashboard, and it is invoiced manually each year rather than auto-renewed. Tax-exempt organizations may provide their exemption certificate at the time of ordering.
Production and Shipping
Plates are custom-printed and programmed per order:
- Production begins after you approve your plate artwork. Nothing goes to print without your sign-off.
- Typical production plus shipping is 2-3 weeks from artwork approval.
- Rush service is available by request for an additional fee.
- Shipping is free to every destination we agree to serve, with tracking when the carrier supports it.
- Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees; customs, carrier delays, and artwork revisions can extend them.
Returns and Refunds
Every order is covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee.
Smart Redirect Dashboard
The Smart Redirect Dashboard is an optional add-on. Instead of programming your plates with a fixed giving URL, we program them with a Tap.Giving short link (for example go.tap.giving/yourchurch) and give your church a login to change where that link points, at any time, without reprinting anything. These terms apply in addition to the rest of this page.
Fees and renewal
- The dashboard is $50 per year per church, not per plate and not per link, and it is included at no charge on orders of 400 plates or more.
- Where it is charged, the first year is billed as a one-time line on your plate order.
- Nothing renews automatically. Later years are a manual invoice we send roughly twelve months after your order was paid, and you choose whether to pay it. We do not store your card, we hold no payment mandate, and we cannot charge your church without someone at your church entering payment details again.
- An add-on year already begun is not pro-rated if you stop mid-year.
If you do not renew, your plates keep working
Your short link is physically printed into the QR code and programmed into the chip before your plates are manufactured, so it cannot be changed on plates you already own. We will not turn your plates into blank plastic over a lapsed add-on. If you choose not to renew, your short link keeps resolving to the last destination you set, for as long as we operate the service. What ends is your access to change it: to point the plates somewhere new after that, renew the dashboard or email us and we will move it for you.
If we ever discontinue the redirect service, or need to retire a particular short link, we will give your church at least 90 days' written notice to the email address on your account, so there is time to reprogram or reprint. We may act faster than that only where a link is being used unlawfully or is causing harm, as described under Acceptable use of your destination below.
Your account
- We issue one login per church. Keep the credentials confidential, and change the password when you first sign in.
- Your church is responsible for what is done through your account, including a destination changed by anyone who has your credentials.
- Tell us at hello@tap.giving straight away if you think your login has been compromised. We may reset credentials or suspend access where we believe an account is at risk.
- There is no self-service password reset. We reset it for you and confirm your identity before we do.
Acceptable use of your destination
- The destination must be a page your church owns or is authorized to use, and it must be lawful.
- You may not point a Tap.Giving short link at phishing, malware, deceptive or misleading content, or at any page collecting funds your church is not authorized to collect.
- The short link is issued for your church's own plates and ministry use, not as a general-purpose URL shortener.
- We may suspend or retire a link that breaches this, with notice where it is practical to give it, and immediately where there is a risk of harm to givers or to the service.
Availability
The dashboard and the redirect are provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee and no service-level commitment. They run on third-party infrastructure and may be interrupted for maintenance, by a provider outage, or by events outside our control. We are not liable for donations that are not made, or are delayed, during an interruption, nor for any loss arising from a destination that was set, or left unchanged, by your church.
Your tap numbers are estimates, not a financial record
Dashboard analytics count taps, not gifts. A tap is not a donation: people tap without giving, give without tapping, and tap more than once. The figures also exclude traffic we identify as automated, are reduced to daily totals after roughly 90 days, and are not audited. Treat them as a rough measure of use. Your giving platform, not our dashboard, is the authority on what your church actually received, and we make no representation that the two will agree.
Ending it
You may stop using the dashboard at any time, simply by not renewing or by telling us. We may end it for non-payment, for a breach of these terms, or if we discontinue the service, on the notice described above. However it ends, the paragraph about your plates continuing to work still applies, and we will delete your account data on request as set out in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable Use
Plates are programmed with the URL you provide. You agree that:
- You have the right to use the artwork, logos, and URL you supply for your order.
- The destination URL will not be used for unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent purposes.
- You are responsible for keeping your giving page (and any redirect you control) pointed where you intend.
Customer Responsibility and Liability
By using Tap.Giving services, the customer assumes full responsibility and liability for:
- Proper installation and use of NFC plates
- Integration with their chosen giving platform
- All donation processing and financial transactions
- Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Data security and privacy of congregation information
- Any issues arising from misuse or improper handling of equipment
Tap.Giving provides NFC hardware only and is not responsible for donation processing, financial transactions, or any consequential damages arising from the use of our products.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TAP.GIVING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OF OUR SERVICES OR PRODUCTS. THE CUSTOMER ASSUMES ALL RISK AND LIABILITY ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF OUR NFC GIVING SOLUTIONS.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
