SecureGive vs. Tap.Giving

They’re not the same kind of product. SecureGive is a giving software platform. Tap.Giving is hardware. Here’s the side-by-side.

SecureGive

Church giving software (SaaS)

  • Online, mobile, and text-to-give
  • Physical giving stations (kiosks with screens)
  • Donor management and reporting
  • Monthly platform fee + per-transaction processing fee
  • Custom quote required (no public pricing)

Tap.Giving

NFC tap-to-give plates (hardware)

  • Mounts on pew backs, chair backs, or walls
  • Congregants tap their phone — no app, no kiosk
  • Opens whatever giving URL you choose (including SecureGive)
  • One-time cost $3.50–$4.50/plate — no monthly fees
  • Public pricing — no sales call required

One Lobby Kiosk vs. 100 Personal Giving Points

SecureGive’s giving stations are flagship hardware. They work — but most churches can only afford one or two, and they sit in the lobby. Tap plates put a giving point in front of every single congregant.

🏛️

SecureGive Giving Station

A countertop or floor-standing kiosk in your lobby. One unit covers everyone who walks past it.

  • • High visibility in lobby
  • • Full screen and card reader
  • • Significant hardware cost per unit
  • • Requires monthly SecureGive plan
  • • Most churches deploy 1–2 units

100 Tap.Giving Plates

For roughly the price of a single kiosk plan, you can put a plate on every pew back or chair in the sanctuary.

  • • $4.50/plate at the 100-pack tier = $450 total, one-time
  • • No screen needed — congregants use their own phone
  • • No app download, no account creation
  • • Works while seated, not just in the lobby
  • • Zero ongoing fees from us

Note: SecureGive’s kiosk pricing isn’t published. Request a quote from SecureGive to confirm current numbers for your situation.

You Can Keep SecureGive and Add Tap Plates

Tap.Giving doesn’t replace SecureGive’s payment processing—we just open the giving page you already have. The two play nicely together.

Point plates at your SecureGive URL

Each plate is an NFC tag programmed with one URL. Tell us your SecureGive giving link and we’ll encode it on every plate before shipping. Tap = SecureGive giving page opens.

All donations stay in SecureGive

Because every tap routes through your SecureGive page, donations land in your SecureGive dashboard, reporting, and donor records. We don’t touch the money or the data.

No double-dipping on fees

Tap.Giving charges zero monthly, zero per-transaction, zero processing fees. You pay once for the plates and that’s it. SecureGive’s fees stay exactly as they are.

No platform lock-in

If you ever leave SecureGive, the plates still work—reprogram them with a free NFC app in 30 seconds and point them at your new giving URL.

SecureGive vs. Tap.Giving FAQ

“Does Tap.Giving replace SecureGive?”

No. Tap.Giving is hardware only—we sell NFC tap-to-give plates. You still need a giving platform to actually process the donation. That platform can be SecureGive, Tithely, Pushpay, Givelify, Donorbox, or anything else with a giving URL.

“Can I use Tap.Giving plates with SecureGive?”

Yes. Each plate is an NFC tag we program with the URL of your choice. Point it at your SecureGive giving page and it works exactly like a SecureGive giving station—except plates cost a one-time $3.50–$4.50 each instead of a kiosk-class price per unit.

“How is this different from SecureGive’s giving stations or kiosks?”

SecureGive’s giving stations are full kiosks with screens—typically one or two in a church lobby. Tap.Giving plates are small NFC discs you mount on every pew back or chair, so each congregant has their own giving point. Same intent (in-person giving in seconds), different form factor and a dramatically different cost per giving point.

“What does Tap.Giving cost compared to SecureGive?”

Tap.Giving has public pricing: $3.50–$4.50 per plate as a one-time cost, free shipping. No monthly subscription, no setup fees, no transaction fees from us. SecureGive is quote-only and includes a monthly platform fee plus per-transaction processing—ask them directly for current numbers.

“Do I have to switch off SecureGive to use Tap.Giving?”

Not at all. The most common path is to keep SecureGive (or whatever giving platform you use) and add Tap.Giving plates as a low-cost way to put a tap-to-give point in front of every congregant.

“How long does Tap.Giving take to ship?”

Custom-branded plates ship in 3–5 weeks from order. We design a proof with your church logo, get your approval, then produce and ship via UPS with tracking.
