Tap.Giving Hardware
Medium Circle Tap Disc
3″ diameter (75 mm)
About the size of a sticky note
Tap.Giving’s 3″ round NFC tap-to-give disc is made for the places people walk up to: lecterns, welcome desks, kiosks and counters. One tap opens your church’s giving page, no app needed. For pew and chair backs, the 4″ plate is the better choice.

Where it works
Lecterns, welcome desks, kiosks and counters, where the plate sits closer to eye level and does not need to carry as much artwork.
Wood, hard plastic and smooth surfaces
3M adhesive backing, standard
3M adhesive tape is already on the back, so it is peel and press onto a clean, smooth surface. No tools, nothing to drill.
Upholstered or fabric surfaces
Pre-drilled screw holes, no extra cost
We recommend screws here. On fabric, tape grips the surface fibers rather than the panel behind them, and a padded back flexes against the bond. Plates with holes still ship with the adhesive on, so you can try tape and keep screws as the backup.
Metal chairs, railings or fixtures
Add anti-metal shielding, $1 per disc
NFC will not read through metal, so a disc mounted flat on metal needs a shielding layer behind the chip. It is charged only on the ones that actually go on metal.
How it mounts, up close
Real photos of our plates, not renderings. Shown on round plates; this size ships with the same backing and the same screw-hole option.
Specifications
Every Tap.Giving size is built the same way. Only the outline changes.
| Size | 3″ diameter (75 mm). About the size of a sticky note. |
|---|---|
| Material | Double-laminated PVC, 0.85 mm thick. Waterproof and dustproof, and thin enough to sit flush rather than stick out like a puck. |
| Printing | Your church’s artwork on every one. You see a proof of your own design before anything is made. |
| NFC chip | Programmed with your giving page before it ships. Locked by default, so nobody tapping it can overwrite the link. Unlocked is available on request if you want to rewrite it yourself later with a free NFC app. |
| Phones | Opens your giving page in the phone’s browser. No app to download. |
| Adhesive | 3M adhesive backing on the back, standard. |
| Screw holes | Pre-drilled holes at no extra cost. The adhesive backing stays on, so you have both options. |
| Metal surfaces | Anti-metal shielding laminated behind the chip, $1 each, only on the ones going on metal. |
| Giving platform | Works with the one you already use: Tithely, Pushpay, Givelify, Subsplash, Planning Center or your own website. |
| Price | Quoted on request. Not sold on the self-serve order page. |

Common questions
Where does a 3-inch disc work best?
Where people walk up and stand still: a lectern, a welcome desk, an entry table, a kiosk or a counter. For pew and chair backs we recommend the 4″ plate, because a bigger antenna gives a more forgiving tap when people are reaching from their seat.
How does it attach?
Every plate has 3M adhesive on the back, and pre-drilled screw holes are available at no extra cost. On wood, hard plastic and other smooth surfaces, the adhesive is all you need. For upholstered or fabric surfaces we recommend the screw holes: tape on fabric grips the surface fibers rather than the panel behind them, and removing it later can lift fibers. Plates with holes keep their adhesive, so you can try both.
Will it work on metal?
Only with the on-metal option. NFC will not read through metal, because the phone’s field induces currents in the metal instead of powering the tag, so the tap does nothing at all. The on-metal version adds a ferrite shield behind the chip, for $1 per disc on just the ones that go on metal.
Can someone change where it points?
Not by tapping it. Our plates ship locked by default, so the link written to the chip cannot be overwritten. If you would rather be able to rewrite it yourself later, ask for unlocked when you order.
Do we have to switch giving platforms?
No. A tap opens a web page, so it points at whatever you already use: Tithely, Pushpay, Givelify, Subsplash, Planning Center, a Church Center link or your own website. Tap.Giving sells the hardware, not the processing, and takes nothing per gift.

Every shape holds the same chip and opens the same page. Compare them all on the products page.
